Stateside star joins JHR Developments for F4 British Championship campaign
JHR Developments is delighted to announce that Carter Williams will join the team for the 2019 F4 British Championship season. The 20-year old American joins returnee Josh Skelton for the 30-race campaign across some of the toughest circuits in the United Kingdom.
Carter, a California native, is a two-time Formula Car Challenge Triple Crown National champion in the United States, having taken 26 podiums in 28 starts in 2016 and ’17, also adding the Regional title in the second year. Last season he scored 13 top-ten finishes in the BRSCC National FF1600 Championship, becoming the Rookie Vice-Champion.
JHR Developments has been in operation since 1995, racing in a number of single-seater and sportscar series. For 2019 the team will return to the F4 British Championship while making its debut in the BRDC British F3 Championship. This will provide drivers with a logical progression route in their single-seater careers as they look to prove themselves in two of the toughest series on the planet.
“I am completely ecstatic to be competing in British F4 this season and with such a top team as JHR Developments. It is an honour to be able to compete in one of the most prestigious and competitive FIA F4 Championships in the world.
“Having a year of British National Formula Ford 1600 under my belt has fully prepared me to come into British F4 fighting for podiums, wins, and the championship. I cannot thank Steven Hunter and the JHR team enough for this incredible opportunity.”
Steven Hunter, Team Principal
“Everybody at JHR Developments is thrilled to have signed Carter for the upcoming F4 British Championship season. He’s shown fantastic ability in other categories and we’re confident he’ll be able to replicate that once again with our support.
“We enjoyed a fantastic year in 2018 – but we’d like to go one better and take the title this time around. Between Carter and Josh, I think we have a really good chance and I can’t wait to get the new season underway at Brands Hatch.”
